Homemade Breakfast Sausage Crumble

Having a few pounds of this on standby for back-to-school breakfast makes mornings a whole lot easier. Throw a handful of this homemade sausage in an omelet, over a breakfast pizza or in baked egg cups.

Ingredients

2 pounds ground pork

2 tsp Herbs de Provence seasoning

2 tbsp brown sugar

½ tsp celery salt

½ tsp onion salt

Pinch of red pepper flakes

Fresh ground black pepper

Directions

In frying pan or cast-iron skillet, add pork, brown sugar and herbs de Provence seasoning. Brown pork until the sugar caramelizes and meat is almost cooked. Add in the celery and onion salt, and the red pepper flakes. Finish with freshly ground black pepper. Sauté until cooked. Taste for seasoning and add more if needed. Add in fresh parsley or thyme at the end for more flavor.
