Chorizo Pull Apart Bread

1 lb pork chorizo crumbles, fully cooked

1 standard loaf French bread

1 lb sliced Havarti cheese

½ cup garlic butter

Chili oil or olive oil/sea salt

 

Homemade Pork Chorizo Crumbles:

1 lb ground pork

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cumin

2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp oregano

1 tsp garlic

1/2 tsp ground coriander

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp onion powder

1 tablespoon canola oil

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

*Put all spices into a bowl with the ground pork. Add in the vinegar and oil. Sauté in a pan until cooked.*

Directions

Carefully slice ¾ inch thick slices on the loaf of bread, without cutting all the way through the bottom of the loaf. The loaf should look like an accordion. Place the bread on a big sheet of heavy-duty foil. Spray foil with cooking spray. Put a tablespoon of garlic butter in between each slice. Next, add in 2 slices of cheese between each slice. Spoon in a heaping tablespoon of cooked chorizo between each slice, then drizzle chili oil or olive oil/salt over the entire loaf. Cover the bread with more heavy-duty foil and place the loaf in the oven at 375 for 25 minutes. Carefully uncover the bread (watch out for steam!). Bake bread again for another 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the top of the bread is golden brown. To serve, pull the bread apart or fully slice each piece off the loaf.

To make garlic butter: Soften one stick of salted butter. Add in 3 crushed and diced garlic cloves, plus finely chopped chives. Mix well.
